Our People Management

Daniel L. Joyce

Founder and CEO, Maggie & Sallie, Westborough, MA

In looking at his resume, it is immediately apparent that Daniel Joyce’s past positions have enabled him to help others even as he gained extensive business experience and knowledge. It is no surprise to those who know him that the new company Daniel has created is built on the tenets of social responsibility, respect and commerce with a conscience.

Over the course of the last20 years in the US, Daniel has worked as a volunteer coordinator of business and community activities at a transitional facility for people seeking redirection in their life; as a staff member and then Executive Director of a L’Arche community for mentally disabled adults; as a business manager for a community health center specializing in addictions and preventive medicine; as COO for a public health organization specializing in treating addictions; as VP fora medical laboratory and finally, as President and CEO of an IT health care technology firm.

In addition to broadening his base of knowledge and responsibility, all of these positions have at their core helping others. This desire to make a real difference in the lives of people is what has propelled Daniel throughout his life. Not content with achieving success for himself or a company’s management, Daniel wanted to include employees and work as a team, with everyone succeeding together. That vision grew to include the neediest members of the surrounding community and from that, the idea of building a company that could enhance the lives and create positive change all of those groups grew.

A resident of New England for nearly 20 years, Daniel arrived in the States from his native India in 1990and quickly fell in love with the country he had intended “just to visit.” As an American citizen who was raised and educated in a different culture and began his career in yet another country in Asia, as a senior executive financial consultant in merchant banking and international trade from1979.

Daniel has been struck by the similarities that should bring the people and companies of different countries together but many times become barriers to mutual success.
